Learning materials and course redesign for Southern Queensland Rural Health and the University of Queensland

Southern Queensland Rural Health, in conjunction with
the University of Queensland, required a redesign and
pedagogical restructure of their existing clinical educator and placement student program. The redesign and restructure mainly involved adjustments to the delivery of content, developing workbooks for each module and improving workshop collateral/activities.
USER EXPERIENCE
The original course workshop book was just copies of the presentation slides. This not only was challenging for the students to engage with, but was also a missed opportunity for incorperating more interactive aspects in the workshop design.

The fundemenatal part of the re-design was to turn the workbook into an active learning material, while also containing all of the delivered information for future reference.
Activities, like the escape room in a breifcase, were combined into the workbook, into a consolidated package, instead of providing the learners with loose sheets of paper.

Creating consistent, useful but simplified workbooks was the goal of this re-design, ensure that the learner got the most out of this workshop.
